Dr. Lee B. Epstein, MD MSc

Lee Epstein, M.D. M.Sc joined Florida Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery in 2008. Dr. Epstein completed a three year fellowship in Urogynecology and Female Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery in Louisville, Kentucky following a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Epstein’s additional training has allowed him to specialize in minimally invasive (Laparoscopic, Robotic, and Vaginal) approaches to pelvic floor reconstruction. These approaches offer the clinical benefits of more invasive surgeries while allowing most patients to leave either the day of, or the day after, surgical procedures. In addition, Dr. Epstein is well versed in conservative (non-surgical) approaches to pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse (fallen bladder), painful intercourse, frequent urinary tract infections, and urinary retention. This allows Dr. Epstein to tailor a treatment plan specific to his patient’s requirements.

Dr. Epstein also holds a master’s degree in Clinical Investigative Science and serves as a reviewer for international peer reviewed publications. Dr. Epstein’s pioneering work in the field of in vivo vaginal biomechanical analysis has been presented and published both nationally and internationally. Dr. Epstein remains dedicated to improving available products and procedures for women with pelvic floor disorders through patient education and research.

Dr. Epstein’s clinical expertise and research training ensure that women are offered the most current, and effective, conservative and surgical options that are available. Dr. Epstein, and his staff, pride themselves on treating women suffering with pelvic floor disorders with the respect, discretion, and understanding they deserve.
